Self help books are useful to an extent, but they lack the substance or personal touch that a therapist can provide to a patient. Talking can be the motivation that some need in order to be successful. It may become discouraging to begin developing better personal habits and lifestyles, but once you start noticing your life developing towards a better future, you will never want to stop.
